Campfire Mulled Wine

- 1 750ml bottle red wine
- ¼ cup brown sugar, packed
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 2 oranges, sliced crosswise
- 2 tablespoons dried mulling spices
- 2 pieces crystallized ginger
- Cinnamon sticks, for garnish
Light the wood fire. Place the mulling spices in a square of cheesecloth and tie it with string.
Pour the wine into a cast iron pot and stir in brown sugar and honey. Add orange slices, crystallized ginger, and the packet of mulling spices.
Place the pot near the edge of the fire and simmer 15 minutes, then move the pot to keep the mulled wine warm. Ladle into camp mugs and garnish with orange slices and a cinnamon stick.
